This week's recipe!

Posted 5/9/2017 4:00pm by Nate Parks.

Why are bitter greens so important to consume?
Besides the hundreds of enzymes that help break down your food and promote healthy digestion- greens contain important antioxidants that keep your immune system and DNA healthy and well!
Benefits include;
Lower risks of stroke, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, Alzheimer's disease and heart disease
Lower risks of certain types of cancer
Reduced risk of kidney stones and bone loss
Higher scores on cognitive tests
Lower oxidative stress

Remember to buy local greens to receive the full living benefits like those above! Produce that travel long distances have lost many of their living nutritional benefits.

Recipe- as much as your heart desires of;

Silverthorn’s Living Greens
Shredded Carrots- I like to use my food processor for quick shredding- promotes eye health
Sliced avocado- Great source of healthy fat
Sunflower Seeds or Pumpkin Seeds

Wild Berry Vinaigrette
1 Cup mixed berries- I prefer wild blackberries-a great source of antioxidants to fight cancer causing free radicals
3 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar- promotes healthy stomach acid
A pinch of Himalayan Salt- for healthy minerals
Raw Honey or Dark Maple Syrup to desired sweetness (optional)

Blend and pour generously onto salad. Enjoy!
